Black roots, platinum lengths: Kim Kardashian’s grunge regrowth is trending
With a few sparing appearances, the former Mrs West still steals the show at New York Fashion Week. Thanks – also – to the effortlessly chic two-tone platinum/black colour scheme, much to the chagrin of Sarah Jessica Parker.
For Kim Kardashian, the transition from platinum blonde to dark brunette is in full swing. And in no time at all, the new trendy hair look was born at the New York fashion shows.
Kim Kardashian relaunches the 90s hair trend
The bleached eyebrows are already archived, the special effect to make a scene on the front rows of New York Fashion Week is the Ninenties-style dye job. The former Mrs West keeps – for a while longer – her hair blonde, but has fun varying it with textures. And above all, she brings the look up to date with the dark regrowth so beloved in the grunge era, which is now making a comeback.
Dark regrowth increasingly evident
She had already said in a recent interview, the aim is to return to her natural colouring by autumn. Why not make a trend out of it? It all started on the Fendi Spring 2023 parterre, where her hairstyle with dark roots of at least 2 centimetres stole the show from her catwalk neighbour Sarah Jessica Parker.
The work is by the usual Chris Appleton, who has no doubts: the two-tone hue is the must-have of the moment. To keep up with the latest trends, but also to give your hair a rest after the summer sunbathing.
In order not to get bored, teaches Kim, you just have to range with textures. From flat hair in a low pony-tail or semi-chignon to loose, wavy, disco-style hair. Always, however, with an ultra-defined parting in the middle, for the obligatory recall with dark eyebrows.
