Cardi B advises fans not to get plastic surgery without research

Cardi B has given some valuable advice to her younger fans about plastic surgery, after undergoing a procedure to have her buttocks injections removed.

Cardi B is no stranger to plastic surgery and has always been transparent about her breast implants and liposuction, among other operations. But the rapper now advises her young fans to think long and hard before going under the knife (or needle, as the case may be). She even had one of her own injections removed.

"In August, I had surgery and I took out 95% of my biopolymers… if you don't know what that is, they're ass injections. It was a really crazy process," she said on Instagram Live, according to JustJared, "All I'm going to say is if you're young, if you're 19, 20, 21, and sometimes you're too skinny, and you're like, 'OMG I don't have enough fat to put in my ass' and you end up thinking about ass shots, DON'T DO IT!"

Cardi B didn't go into detail about why she didn't like having artificial enhancements on her posterior but she did share her opinions on another popular surgery, the Brazilian butt lift.

"When it comes to BBL, if you all want my advice, before you get your BBL done, you need to make sure your blood work is good," she said. "If a doctor tells you that your blood work is too low or you have diabetes or whatever, don't do it." A poorly performed BBL can lead to death, with up to 1 in 3,000 patients who undergo the procedure dying, according to a 2017 study. As the operation has only grown in popularity since then, these figures may no longer be accurate, but it is still considered a major operation. So, as Cardi B says, listen to your doctor about any risks.

A good reminder: postponing surgery to do more research is far less difficult than having surgery and then having to have another procedure to back out. Thanks for your honesty, as always, Cardi B!
