“Fake dimples”: TikTok users make up the new make-up trend – and it even works!
In summer, there were numerous hacks on how best to make up fake freckles. In autumn 2022, fake dimples are all the rage.

We love all the experimentation that goes on at #beautytok, from killer hair changes to creative looks with bold colours. Now, the makers:inside prefer to use their make-up utensils to create "fake dimples" where there are actually none. The effect: laugh lines and dimples look natural. And they are also completely harmless! Unlike another TikTok trend, which emerged in spring 2022 and encouraged users to press dimples into their faces with their fingers or a narrow object.
Here's how you can make up fake dimples
One creator, @glamwithdaminee, has shown how she made her cute fake dimples: she starts with a full face of make-up before taking a contour pencil and drawing a round impression on either side of her mouth. Next, she applies a tiny swipe of concealer on both sides and gently blends it with a make-up sponge to create a shadowed dimple effect.
We've seen others try this hack too: like @misstaradavy, who completed her no-make-up make-up look with a dimple that's barely visible.
And @robertasalatioa, who uses a matte brown powder eyeshadow from her makeup palette to outline dimples.
@serenalakkiss put her own twist on the trend by using a liquid texture to create curved staple shapes around the edge of her lips, then tracing them with a brow pencil.
